Eviction ban

Eviction ban extended for a further two months.

The government has announced a two month extension on the eviction ban, taking the suspension up to five months in total. Coming into force on 25th June,new legislation means evictions from private or rented accommodation cannot be actioned until at least 23rd August 2020.

Housing Secretary, Robert Jenrick, said:

"We are suspending evictions from social and private rented accommodation by a further two months. Eviction hearings will not be heard in courts until the end of August and no one will be evicted from their home this summer due to Coronavirus."
